Pierce Volterra transmission wins 2024 PACE Award

Headlines News Hot Topics award electric fire truckJune 6, 2024, Maumee, Ohio — Dana Incorporated won the 2024 Automotive News PACE Award for its transmission system used in the Pierce Volterra and the Oshkosh Airport Products Striker Volterra.
The electro-mechanical, infinitely variable system integrates high-voltage motors, a power-split transmission, and a low-voltage motor and inverter, facilitating engine-only, hybrid, and battery-only modes for both electric aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicles.
The goal of the system is to reduce CO2 emissions while enhancing vehicle performance and reducing operational costs, Pierce said in a statement.
This is Dana Incorporated’s ninth PACE Award, which celebrates automotive suppliers for innovation, technological advancement, and business performance.
