Owen Sound receives $49,775 government investment for emergency preparedness

Headlines News Hot Topics emergency preparedness investmentMay 27, 2024, Owen Sound, Ont. — The Ontario government is investing $49,775 in the community of Owen Sound for the purchase of thermal drone equipment.
The city said the equipment will improve their capabilities to respond to a variety of emergencies, including floods and fires, and enable more efficient search and rescue operations.
The investment is part of the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant, a $110 million allotment from the provincial government that will be used to strengthen emergency preparedness over the next three years.
Owen Sound is one of 113 recipients of 2024 funding across Ontario.
